Etihad Airways records successful year for flight operation punctuality

Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, has posted its best operational on-time performance (OTP) results since 2009.

OTP is calculated on actual flight arrival and departure times within 15 minutes of the published schedule and takes into consideration a variety of external factors including weather disruption and airspace congestion.

Dubai-based carrier flydubai today announced the launch of two new European routes for next year: flights to Krakow will start on 08 April 2018 and flights to Catania will start on 13 June 2018. flydubai becomes the first UAE carrier to operate direct flights to these destinations, offering daily flights. October 25, 1985, marks a special day in the history of UAE. On this day, 32 years ago, the first Emirates flight took off. Flight number EK 600 flew with UAE royal dignitaries on board from Dubai to Karachi at 11.45am. Two other planes also took flight to the Indian cities of Mumbai and Delhi.

The National -- An Etihad Airways flight travelling from Abu Dhabi to Sydney made an emergency landing at Australia's Adelaide Airport early on Saturday after a warning indicator activated in the cockpit.

Reuters reported that crew on board Etihad flight EY450 landed the plane at 5am local time at Adelaide Airport, in the state of South Australia.

The National -- Dubai-based budget carrier flydubai is temporarily suspending its flights to Erbil, complying with an Iraqi government demand following an independence referendum in Kurdish-held northern Iraq.
