Italian luxury house Bulgari and its famous Serpenti motif share a bond that is unbreakable. One of its most emblematic and enduring symbols, it was a union forged somewhere in the 1940’s with the creation of bracelet watches in the form of a snake. In its 2015 Fall Winter Accessories Collection the brand accents two of its signature collections: Serpenti and Bulgari-Bulgari, to offer a splendid range for discerning fashionstas. Aviamost brings you highlights from this captivating array…

Representing everything from birth, rebirth, beauty, sex appeal, and wisdom in Greek mythology and Roman civilization, the snake motif also alludes to brand founder Sotirio Bulgari’s Greek heritage and adopted home of Rome. Bold, eye-catching and compelling, it lends itself effortlessly to the brand’s artistic parlance and is the perfect motif for the Italian label.

The 2015 Fall Winter Accessories Collection is born of the very essence of Bulgari – inspired by the colour of gemstones. Rich with ruby reds, serene with ocean turquoise, golden with tiger’s eye, the range is enhanced by the array of exquisite colour palettes found naturally within the Earth. In luxury handbags, silken scarves, and shapely sunglasses, 2015 Bulgari’s Accessories celebrate their creator, the master of gemstones, while accentuating two of its signature collections: Serpenti and Bulgari-Bulgari.

Across time and space, the ancient symbol of the serpent continues to have a riveting effect upon the viewer. At once timeless, sensual and beautiful, the Serpenti collection boasts a rich heritage, distinguished elegance, and status as one of Bulgari’s most recognizable icons. Screen goddesses such as Elizabeth Taylor had a particular fondness for Bulgari’s Serpenti and is said to have famously flaunted a serpent-shaped watch while filming Cleopatra in 1962.

Renowned for exquisite gemstone designs, colour is an iconic feature of any Bulgari creation. From the trained eye of a gemmologist to the meticulous hand of the goldsmith, Bulgari gems can take years to find and assemble. The beauty and remarkable nature of its stones is often the whole inspiration for the masterpiece.

Bulgari Accessories are no exception. Since the 1950s, the Roman jeweller has blazed its own trail, in a colour revolution that deviates from the traditional, diamond-based Parisian school of jewellery. With a bold Italian style, Bulgari continues to explore unusual stone combinations that make its creations come alive – in a rainbow of gemstone colours.

In 2015, the master of gemstones enhanced its accessories line with the palette of gem inspiration, expressed in the colours of Bulgari leathers, accessories and silks.

Serpenti

As trademark collection of Bulgari, 2015 Serpenti is enriched by the colourful soul of their brand and has grown into one of the most colourful and recognisable of Bulgari’s signatures.

The Serpenti Forever collection introduces the new Serpenti Crossbody, compact and versatile with top handle or strap, with three or two compartments and is perfect for all day usage anywhere in the city.

Bulgari introduces the new Serpenti Galuchat, using ancient dying methods and a final “diamond” technique to fabricate its tactile finish, in deep gemstone colours such as ocean turquoise, violet amethyst and ruby wine.

The Serpenti Python is authenticity itself, made from the actual serpent’s skin and treated by Bulgari artisans with a dabbing, glossing and softening process resulting in an elegant bag that’s ready to ‘coil’ itself around its wearer, no matter what her outfit.

Bulgari also tempts us with the Serpenti Mink, a textured combo of black long-hair and white shaved mink fur, while the Serpenti Shiny Croco in gemstone amethyst, turquoise and ruby colours defines luxury.

The Serpenti Forever classic collection ‘slithers’ in supple refined and resistant calf leather, or rich brushed-metallic leather requiring 16 coloration steps. With grosgrain or nappa interiors, these bags are expressed in vibrant gem colours. As ever, the iconic enamel snakehead is found clasping every piece of this collection, peering with coloured eyes made of jewels or enamel, its scales almost too lifelike in their preciousness.

Meanwhile, the Serpenti Scaglie collection celebrates a different serpentine perspective with the New Serpenti Bauletto bag which comes in three sizes and the slightly more spacious Serpenti Shopping Bag providing everyday chic and elegance.

Bulgari-Bulgari

Bulgari-Bulgari being an elegant fusion of heritage and modernity honours its Roman history by using the original Latin “V” epigraphy of its name above its flagship store: “Bulgari.”

Drawing inspiration from the inscriptions circling Roman coins, Bulgari created in 1975 the “Bulgari-Bulgari” emblem to encircle its new watch faces in double; shortly thereafter, a logo was born.

Constantly evolving, the Bulgari-Bulgari collection is one of the most audacious and creative, yet it carries its logo of tradition wherever it goes. Rooted in 40 years of tradition, the collection reaches higher into the creative sky with a proud new signature bag.

In the innovative spirit of the collection, the Bulgari-Bulgari Duetto bag makes a refined statement with the logo featured boldly, beneath a trendy top handle.

The new Bulgari-Bulgari Shopping Bag is a must-have that provides practicality with style as it features multiple compartments. In full-grain calf leather or combined with embellishments of the Shiny Ayers water-snake skin, the Bulgari-Bulgari collection stands true with timelessness.

Eyewear

2015’s Bulgari-Bulgari sunshades incorporate the sublime innovation and rare delicacy of karung skin décor, with a cat-eye frame and two complementary colour combinations.

The new 2015 Bulgari-Bulgari Catene pair alight with a gracious butterfly shape, to flutter alongside the delicate metal chain and enamel details that decorate its arms and brilliant contrasting colours such as turquoise blue and ruby red pair with classy tortoise shell.

Capturing the charisma of the iconic beauties of the 1950s, 2015’s Diva eyewear celebrates modern femininity. Subtle enamel and crystal detailing recall Bulgari’s jewellery making expertise.

When High Jewellery craftsmanship meets Bulgari Eyewear, the Serpenti Cat Eye is as flattering as it is resplendently precious. Pink gold and diamond scales creep along the arms of the sunglasses, recalling the seduction of the iconic collection.

Silk

The new silk Bulgari Scarves tell four different stories, each featuring a different piece of figurative art. From the Cleopatra scarf that combines her serpentine obsession with the resplendence of the Diva collection, to the Venetian Serpenti that enchains Serpenti into an ar tistic weave, to the Immortal Elixir that encircles the best of colourful Serpenti around the neck, or the Minimal BB Logo that renders something iconic into something understated, each scarf is a portal to a faraway destination, a journey across the colours of Bulgari gems. Each Bulgari stole, shelley and leather wallet of 2015 carries this common theme, honouring colour and defining luxury, as they represent their namesake. With an uncompromised passion for beauty, a resolute Italian craftsmanship, and an unmatched palette for colour, Bulgari Accessories has set the standard for the world.

Vibrant history

Last year, 2014 marked the 130th year of Bulgari, a name emblematic of Italian excellence. Inspired by 2,700 years of Roman history, art and architecture as also by its founder’s Grecian origin, the brand unfurled a fabulous array of classic yet contemporary designs in exceptional collections of jewellery, watches, accessories and perfumes.

Bulgari was founded by Greek silversmith Sotirio Bulgari who opened a jewellery shop in Rome Its flagship store at the Via dei Condotti has played host to international artists, writers and actors during the famous ‘Dolce Vita’ years – the 1950’s – 60’s – featuring names like Elizabeth Taylor and Audrey Hepburn, and enabling it to carve a firm niche for itself. Bulgari was acquired by the luxury group LVMH (Louis Vuitton Moet Hennessey) in 2011 and is today a global and diversified player in the realm of luxury with a network of stores in the most exclusive venues across the world.
