Dubai hosted record number of international tourists than ever before in 2023

Dubai recorded its best-ever annual tourism performance in 2023, with international tourist arrivals to the emirate increasing by 19.4 per cent annually to 17.15 million, amid the continued expansion of its economy.
Last year’s figure exceeded the previous record of 16.73 million visitors registered in 2019, according to the latest data published by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism.

Former Fox News host, Tucker Carlson, says he will "soon" interview Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow. In a video posted on X, formerly Twitter, Carlson said he wanted to do the interview because "Americans have a right to know all they can about a war they are implicated in". It would be Mr Putin's first one-on-one interview with a Western journalist since he launched his full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. The Kremlin has not yet commented.

Emaar reveals its plans for drive through mall in Dubai

An upcoming mall in Dubai will allow customers to drive through it in electric cars. This was revealed by Mohammed Alabbar, the founder of Emaar and Noon.
Speaking at the Sharjah Entrepreneurship Festival (SEF) 2024, he also revealed that the mall would be located in Dubai Creek Harbor. “We are trying something exciting,” he said. “This will be the first time cars can enter a mall so it will be very unique. We did not come up with this ourselves, we learnt it from somewhere.”

H.H Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE has allocated US$5 million in aid towards the reconstruction of Gaza.
The financial aid will support the efforts of Ms. Sigrid Kaag, the United Nations Senior Humanitarian and Reconstruction Coordinator for Gaza.
