Beijing and Almaty await 2022 Winter Olympic decision

The International Olympic committee will decide the host city for the 2022 Winter Olympics on Friday in Kuala Lumpur. The IOC members will choose between China’s capital Beijing and the Kazakh city of Almaty.

If chosen Beijing will be the first city to host both Games after staging the 2008 Summer Olympics. Beijing says it is the reliable bid but a lack of natural snow in the area has caused some concerns.

Microsoft says Windows 10 is a “new era” in personal computing

Microsoft launched its Windows 10 operating system on Wednesday, hailing the return of much-missed “Start” menu.

Windows 10 can run across PCs, tablets and smartphones and features include a new search function, faster browsing, personalized gaming and an easier interface.  

“Windows 10 ushers in an era of more personal computing in a mobile first cloud, first world”, said CEO Satya Nadela. “We want to make Windows 10 the most-loved release of Windows.”
