UAE to host Days of Belarusian Culture on 29 January-2 February (Video)

The United Arab Emirates will host the Days of Belarusian Culture on 29 January-2 February, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Culture Ministry. Belarus' official delegation will be led by Culture Minister Yuri Bondar. The cultural program features performances of the chamber orchestra of the Belarusian State Philharmonic Society, an exhibition Cornflower Bridge by artists Natalia Ivanova and Grigory Ivanov, a folk music concert and a presentation of Belarus' tourism industry by the National Tourism Agency of the Sports and Tourism Ministry. The Belarusian delegation is set to meet with the UAE officials to discuss cooperation in culture and tourism, organization of concerts and other events involving Belarusian artists in the United Arab Emirates. The Belarusian delegation will hold a meeting with the director of the UAE Department of Culture and Tourism.

Taking a step further towards placing the region’s rich civilization, heritage and arts on the global cultural map, Al Bait will serve as the concert venue for the first edition of Belarus Culture Days in UAE, under the patronage of the UAE Ministry of Culture & Knowledge Development in cooperation with the Embassy of Belarus on February 1, 2019, taking place 7:30 pm onwards.

 The event will feature the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus along with Emirati musicians and composers and will be held across Abu Dhabi, Sharjah and Dubai. At Al Bait, Sharjah musical activities and a concert will be held, including the State Chamber Orchestra of the Republic of Belarus led by Maestro Yevgeny R. Boskov. The orchestra will be accompanied by Emirati musicians Hamad Al Tai and Ibrahim Al Junaibi on the piano, who will perform pieces of their owncomposition, thus paying homage to Emirati aesthetics and highlighting the region’s rich cultural history. Harmoniously integrated into the historic fabric of the emirate of Sharjah, the luxury resort will continue to be the hub for highlighting the region’s culture and art and will execute numerous initiatives to highlight the UAE's flourishing, multi-layered cultural landscape.

Besides enthralling guests with musical compositions by these maestros, The Library at Al Bait will host an art exhibition, ‘Cornflowers Bridge’ by two Belarusian artists, Grigorij Ivanov and Natalia Ivanova during the Belarus Culture Days in UAE. Creating poetic-lofty worlds, dominated by the harmony of nature and humans, Natalia Ivanova is a renowned Belarusian painter, who excels at depicting symbolic figurative art. A Belarusian avant-garde, Grigorij Ivanov is a member of the famous “Pluralis” group and a pioneer in his own right. He is the founder of a new trend in art named “Stevism” the power of light. 

With an aim to strengthen cultural relations with the Republic of Belarus, the Belarus Culture Days in the UAE will serve as an ideal platform for artists from the two countries to team up and innovate in the various forms of arts and culture. The program aims to open up new avenues and collaborations of cultural cooperation. Moreover, it will enable UAE’s counterparts in Belarus to take a closer look at the region’s rich civilization, heritage and arts. Apart from fostering cultural exchange, the program will also promote intercultural exchanges and dialogues between intellectuals from the UAE and the Republic of Belarus.
