Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture SS16

10 May 2016

As always, Alexandre Vauthier collections are all about French savoir-faire paired with a certain edginess and a touch of glamour. This time around, his women's Couture offering came with a particularly sensual flair, as outfits evolved from street-wear inspired looks to more romantic ones. On the runway, his fierce and ultra-feminine Haute Couture pieces were quite appealing – think ultra-short and floor-skimming cocktail numbers in shiny dévoré optic or leggy and silk gowns with crystal... Elie Saab Haute Couture SS16

10 May 2016

Lilah Wingfield, English explorer of the last century, and her travel diaries inspired this Couture collection of Elie Saab. Indian inspirations  dissolve the Victorian heritage of the clothes and make the entire collection fresh and light. On the catwalk, mini lace dresses, long tunics covered in crystals and wide pants to wear with sari tops. There are also elegant lace and crystals gowns, unique creations that we will soon see on the red carpet at the Grammys.

Just Woven

06 Apr 2016

A woven bag is a wardrobe must-have. And the best thing is, you don't even need the beach to carry one. They work just as well in the city and can even double as work bags. The beach bag screams good vibes and sunshine. A whole lot of textured looks combine to pull together the Dolce & Gabbana look as well, what with the tassels, embroidery, and golden chains all around. The bags are certainly carrying some sexy bags. What if we saw two similar sized bags stuck together though? That is... Read More

Chain Straps

06 Apr 2016

Chain straps appeared as a trend during the 2015 seasons as well, so we were hoping it would carry on with a little bit of something new. That is exactly what happened as we combine the featured favorite chains with fringe for example at DVF, or with oven shaped designs as seen at Betsey Johnson. Even the Jeremy Scott flowers have chains to hold on to.

Pretty fringes added create colorful flowers at Monique Lhuillier, while we see a whole lot of chains appearing at Alexander Wang,... Read More

Snakeskin

06 Apr 2016

The designers borrowed this idea also from the Nature, ages ago. All kinds of animal prints have been in for at least 5 years, but in spring 2016 reptile prints will replace tiger and leopard coloration. After viewing hundreds of catwalk looks we’ve come to the conclusion that couturiers went into cahoots and made a collective foray into a giant serpentarium. And while Prada restricts itself to details and furnishings made of snakeskin,

Bags With Top Handles

06 Apr 2016

The Kate Bosworth handbag style of having top handles only is sweeping the fashion industry and we are loving it. It is a huge trend, possibly the biggest in terms of SS 2016 handbags and comes in a myriad of designs, from the structured alligator skin Zimmermann and Zac Posen looks to the metallic DVF styling. Tory Burch gives those things a 3D effect, while shimmering silver is what we get to see at Christian Siriano.

Large totes anyone? Opening Ceremony has some awesome styles for... Read More

Solid Stripes

06 Apr 2016

The stripe story for spring is all about coloring between the lines, indeed. Bold, layered shades lend even more interest to this graphic tale.

Botany Study

06 Apr 2016

As many plants are essential foundations for life sources, we research into their growth, needs and exceptional beauty. Botanical illustrations are key as we now look at the florals in a scientific manner. Sketched imagery of other wildlife such as bugs and butterflies also comes into play as the color palette is natural with brown undertones.

Green Flash

06 Apr 2016

If you love to explore and want to shed off the mundane moments of your life, stick to the lush and happy green here that certainly has a rather distinct calm to it while still carrying an inspiring sense of curious exploration through things that are lush and brightened by the sun. It is a popular hue and we loved having it appear on the runways for the spring and summer seasons, as it is simply perfect for that time of the year.

Matched with Snorkel Blue, you can definitely see the... Read More

Futuristic Metallic

06 Apr 2016

It may not be one of the biggest spring/ summer 2016 color trends on the runway, but silver is very much in and seen all over, especially on shimmering fabrics. Dresses of all types appear in silver, on the Paris Fashion Week among others, as per Iris Van Herpen, Paul & Joe, Louis Vuitton, Chanel and Saint Laurent, the latter with a tiara topping its gowns. We see the shimmering effects of the silver at the Emanuel Ungaro show, appearing in a crop top twin set and a loose mini dress,... Read More
