Board’s chairman and two vice-chairmen are to be elected at first duly convened meeting within two weeks

Dubai: In his capacity as Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE, has issued Decree No. 19 of 2015, forming the Board of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

Pursuant to the decree, members of the new board are Majid Saif Al Ghurair, Majid Hamad Rahma Al Shamsi, Hesham Abdullah Al Shirawi, Abdul Jalil Yousuf Darwish, Hilal Saeed Al Marri, Rashid Humaid Ali Al Mazroui, Raja Easa Saleh Al Gurg, Obaid Humaid Al Tayer, Amna Kalfan Al Jallaf, Ebrahim Ahmad Al Abbas, Buti Saeed Al Gandi, Essa Abdullah Al Ghurair, Yahya Saeed Lootah, Abdullah Saeed Juma Al Naboudah, Sofia Abdullah Saleh, Shehab Mohammad Gargash, Abdul Hamed Ahmad Seddiqi, Ahmad Saif Bel Hasa, Omar Abdullah Al Futtaim, Faisal Juma Kalfan Bel Houl, Faiza Al Sayed Mohammad Yousuf Al Hashemi, Ali Abdullah Al Shafar and Hani Rashid Bin Rashid Al Yateem.

The board’s term is three years, which can be renewed. The chairman and two vice-chairmen will be elected pursuant to Law No. 08 of 1997 on the Organisation of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This law states that the chairman of the board, the two vice-chairmen and members of the executive bureau shall be elected during the first duly convened meeting of the board to be held within two weeks from the date of the appointment decree issued by the Ruler, and the meetings shall be presided over by the eldest member until the election procedures are completed.

All decisions and resolutions issued by the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry since October 5, 2013 to the date of activation of this decree remain valid. This decree is active from the date of issuance and is to be published in the Official Gazette.
