Etihad Airways, the national airline of the UAE, is the official airline of the Milan Fashion Week, Milano Moda Donna. Together with its partner Alitalia, the airline welcomed guests at an exclusive welcome area at Piazza Gae Aulenti, the fashion hub of the prestigious event.

Well-known fashion illustrator Megan Hess lent her creative expression to the event, where she also drew portraits of the airlines' guests.

“Fashion is an ideal brand fit for Etihad Airways, sharing the common attributes of ambition and innovation,” said Shane O’Hare, Etihad Airways’ Senior Vice President Marketing. “We are especially honoured to have begun our partnership with Milano Moda Donna, which not only captures global media attention, but also allows us to showcase and celebrate the beautiful uniforms of Etihad Airways and Alitalia."

“Milan Fashion Week is the perfect setting to promote Alitalia’s journey of renewal and growth. Our guests’ travel experience places greater emphasis than ever before on delivering Italian hospitality, while our stylish collection of new uniforms represent Italian excellence around the world, emulating the beauty, style and elegance of Italy.” said Aubrey Tiedt, Alitalia Chief Customer Officer. “We are proud to partner, together with Etihad Airways, at an event that is of key importance for the Italian fashion industry and for this country."

In April 2016, Etihad Airways announced a comprehensive global agreement with WME | IMG to become a long-term partner of the fashion industry, connecting the airline with fashion capitals across the world. The agreement is the first multinational, multi-year airline sponsorship supporting the fashion community, and especially men’s and women’s fashion events in Berlin, London, Milan, Mumbai, New York and Sydney.

Etihad Airways and its partner airlines, which are also party to the agreement with WME | IMG, will help fashion’s insiders arrive, connect and present at the industry’s key moments throughout the year, and in the longer term, develop travel-oriented relationships with fashion designers, models, stylists, journalists, photographers, suppliers and sponsors.
