Dubai-based flydubai is marking the fifth anniversary of its first flight to Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport (VKO). In the last five years, more than 450,000 passengers have flown with flydubai on this route.

The airline expanded its service to the capital of Russia following four years of operations to several other Russian destinations.  Russia has been a key market on the flydubai network, and the airline has been flying to Russia since November 2010 when it launched flights to Ekaterinburg and Samara. Since then flydubai has created a network of nine destinations across Russia.

Jeyhun Efendi, Senior Vice President, Commercial Operations and E-commerce at flydubai, said: “I would like to thank our passengers for being an important part of our journey. Today, passengers from Russia can enjoy visa on arrival when visiting the United Arab Emirates and can also benefit from convenient connections to Africa, the Indian Subcontinent and South-East Asia via Dubai’s aviation hub. Our extensive route network and visa on arrival also provides UAE Nationals with more opportunities to discover the different attractions across Russia”.

Business Class passengers can enjoy a comfortable spacious seat, a choice of meals from an internationally inspired menu, a generous checked baggage allowance and fast track through immigration and security. flydubai’s Business Class experience also provides complimentary access to Inflight Entertainment (IFE) with over 1,000 hours of content and more than 150 films available in Russian on HD touchscreens.

Economy Class Passengers benefit from comfortable RECARO seats and can purchase extra-legroom seats, Inflight Entertainment and light snacks on board or preorder hot meals prior to their flight.

Both Business and Economy class passengers can now save time at the airport and check in online up to 48 hours before the flight using the flydubai mobile application or by visiting the airline’s website. Online check-in is available until 90 minutes before the flight departure time.

All flydubai flights to destinations to Russia are codeshared with Emirates. The strategic partnership between the two airlines offers passengers’ access to the combined network of Emirates and flydubai which is expected to reach 240 destinations by 2022. The partnership of the two carriers also provides passengers with benefits, such as the convenience of travelling on a single ticket with seamless point-to-point baggage handling, the alignment of the frequent flyer programme and a smooth transfer during transit in Dubai.
