The tie-up between hospitality giants Marriott International and Starwood Hotels and Resorts Worldwide sees the emergence of Marriott International as the world’s largest hotel operator.

At present, it is the largest hotel operator in the MENA region with 52,000 rooms and 58 properties with 17,000 rooms in the UAE.

The $13 billion acquisition of the Starwood group took place at the company’s flagship hotel in the Middle East, JW Marriott Marquis Dubai on Friday and as per news reports in leading dailies, will create 6,000 new hotel jobs in the UAE.

Elevated above the city's business district on Sheikh Zayed Road, the world's tallest hotel, the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel Dubai boasts over 1,600 guest rooms and suites spread out across two towers and 72 spectacular floors. It offers  panoramic city views from its luxury accommodations, all of which are outfitted with spa-like marble bathrooms, 46-inch LCD TVs, and plush bedding. Its dazzling amenities include the signature SARAY Spa and state-of-the-art health and fitness center and an array of diverse restaurants from which you can explore the flavors of Dubai and beyond.
