Tom Cruise looks to be getting a bird’s eye view of the UAE desert, judging by the latest shot from the Abu Dhabi shoot for Mission Impossible 6 the actor has placed on his Instagram.

The shot, posted in the early hours of this morning, shows presumably Cruise himself – the actor is renowned for performing his own stunts – leaping from the back of an aeroplane high above the dunes and is captioned “Dropping in. Summer ’18. #MissionImpossibleFallout”.

Cruise was spotted last week taking helicopter flights and brushing up on his skydiving skills in the skies above the capital, presumably in preparation for what MI6 director Christopher McQuarrie has described on social media as “the stunt.”

It is not clear from Cruise’s photograph whether he is partaking in the final shooting of the skydiving scene, or engaging in further rehearsals, though the fact he appears to be jumping from the rear of a large cargo plane rather than a pleasure craft would seem to suggest the former.

Cruise’s Mission Impossible - Fallout co-star Henry Cavill is also believed to be in the UAE having posted a photo of himself on Instagram sitting on what looks distinctly like an Etihad plane seat.
