WAM--Dubai Customs launched on Tuesday, "Jawab service," upon the directives of the wise leadership to make Dubai the world’s smartest city.

The new artificial intelligence communication service, which connects Dubai Customs with its clients through social media platforms, was inaugurated in the presence of Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director of Dubai Customs.

The new service will see a virtual officer respond to clients' enquires 24/7 without any human intervention through Dubai Customs accounts on Facebook and Twitter. By the end of 2016, the number of followers of Dubai Customs’ social channels increased by 37% compared to 2015, and interaction with Dubai Customs’ news and bulletins also increased by 2%.

Commenting on the new service, Musabih said, "We are happy to launch a new smart service within our vision to adopt the latest applications and provide our clients with 7 star services following the vision of Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. The new service will help attend to clients’ enquiries and enable them to contact relevant departments.

"It is very easy and convenient to use and is reminiscent of our attitude and vision as the first 100% smart government department, so we will keep on developing it to attain even higher levels of client happiness in order to go over the 96.2 percentage that we reached last year".

Musabih thanked the Customs Development Division for launching this innovative service.
