Region’s first fashion extravaganza on ice on 17 Jan features professional ice-skating models

Dubai Shopping Festival is bringing to visitors a dramatic one-of-a- kind fashion extravaganza, its ‘Fashion on Ice’ show on 17 January in collaboration with Galeries Lafayette at the Dubai Ice Rink in The Dubai Mall.

The spectacular performance featuring models, who are also professional ice-skaters,  will help Unwrap The Best Of Style at the array of Apparel and Fashion-themed events of DSF 2016, and highlight the unique initiatives launched by retailers in Dubai during the current edition of DSF.

‘Fashion On Ice’ is the first ever interactive and exclusive over the top theatrical fashion extravaganza to be held in the region, and will demonstrate the remarkable contribution made by DSF over the years to position Dubai as a fashion capital through innovative fashion events.

Models will showcase the avant-garde collections from Galeries Lafayette at a skating fashion show that will be themed around a journey from the Arctic to Dubai, all brought to life through the use of moving video projections.

Fashion On Ice’, which will kick off at 7.30pm,  will bring to the fore the exceptional talents of the ice-skating models and a great deal of creativity, as the audience will see a wide mix of choreographed Ice-skating and visuals, making it  a most memorable attraction of DSF 2016.

DSF visitors and shoppers will get the chance to win a seat for the one-off show through social media competitions run acoss the digital platforms of festival organisers, the Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), an agency of the Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing (DTCM),  Galeries Lafayette and Dubai Ice Rink.

‘Fashion on Ice’ stems from DFRE’s efforts to work closely with prominent retailers and international brands to  encourage them to develop their own extraordinary activations to offer shoppers amazing events this DSF in line with the tagline ‘Unwrap The Exceptional’.
