After a big success of the inaugural event in February 2016 with over 250 participants, Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts is looking forward to the return of its festival for February 2017. Two weeks prior to the event, almost 300 guests have registered for this year’s event. Promising a day filled with adventure and lots of family fun, Anantara is aiming to colour the sky of Desert Islands Resort & Spa’s beach more than ever before.
The day which commences at 11.00 am focuses on families making their own kites and then flying them from the pristine beaches of the island. Complimentary sausage sizzle, music and fun for all will be available afterwards until 5.00 pm, as well as kids entertainment such as a mini adventure park and beach games including kayaking and archery. For guests to enjoy the fun it’s not mandatory to fly a kite to come along to the event. Many visitors may choose to treat this as an opportunity to spend the day together at the beach and to see this incredible sight of colorful kites flying.
“We as Anantara Team, have started to count down to Kite Fest 2017 and are looking forward to welcoming new faces, as well as returning visitors to Sir Bani Yas Island this year. I am especially excited about the new contest category we have created for this year’s event and I am curious to see which impressive kite creations our guests will come up with,” explains General Manager, Christian Gerart.
While last year’s winners were awarded for the smallest, largest and most creative kites, Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island introduces a new contest category this year. The contestant with the most outstanding kite shaped like an animal will take home one of Anantara’s carefully selected prizes.
Entries are free for Anantara Sir Bani Yas Island Resorts’ guests. Day visitors get to enjoy the festivities for AED 150* per adult and AED 100* per child. The package includes boat transfer and transportation on the island to the event, as well as a complimentary sausage sizzle, soft drinks, kids’ entertainment and a kite kit. Registration is required. Cash payment is conducted at the event venue on 17 February 2017.
Guests staying in any of Anantara’s three resorts on Sir Bani Yas Island for the weekend of the event are entitled for up to 40% savings on accommodation including daily breakfast, as well as 25% savings on all island activities**. Anantara’s Kite Festival Specials start with rates from AED 1,200***.
